Blame it on the hot weather.

OMG, it is so hot now. It is about 39 degree. As you know we got our keys and had started painting. And the useless me actually fell sick. I did still help out with some painitng until my DH asks me not to do it.

I called up my coordinator to tell them I cannot sick because I m afraid that i will spread the virus to the aged. But I think they really do not have enough staffs that they ask me to wear a mask instead. What the?! Anyway, I still report to work and try my best to stay away from the aged.

DH wakes up early every morning to go and paint the house. Thank God for friends, many actually help us out. We are now 95% to completion on painting.

Today, as usual I went to work, and bought another bottle of cough syrup. I hope i will get well soon because we are moving on the 3rd Jan. As for packing, i think we only done 20%. Oops.

Feeling a bit drowsy, i think i better go rest so that i will be able to welcome 2009 with a healthy body.

As for new year resolutions, let me think about it.

Thank you for all my family and friends that have such great blessing in our life. Especially the best man in the world, my Mr Oink!! xoxoxoxoxoxo Cant express how important you are. :)

Exhausted!

I m so so exhausted. I think I m falling sick soon. We got our house key and we have already started doing some work. Yesterday, we went to sand down the walls. It was really good workout because my arms and legs are so sore today.

Manage to paint half the house with the based coat and more to go. The paints are not cheap at all. One 10 litres tin is about $140. I can see my money flying away. But is definitely cheaper to paint on our own because my neighbor told me that she spent seven thousand on getting a painter.

The things here are extremely steep. We are looking to buy fridge, washer and dryer. Hoping the post christmas sale will be cheap.

Highlights of my job

Feel like writing down some of the things that touches me this past weeks.

Last Friday, I went to my favorite client, OD, then his wife complains to me about him peeing everywhere in the house, keep falling down and even run away from home. I pity the wife but sometimes i wonder did the wife ill treat him that why he runs away.

Anyway, I spend time with him, everything was fine. I offered him a piece of chocolate biscuit and he doesnt want. Then i popped it into my mouth. When he saw that, he told me to bring him for a walk. To Mr OD, he will walk with me because he knows i want to lose weight, but this is actually my excuse to make him walks with me. So I was very happy because i wanted him to do a bit of exercise, so we went for a walk. He is still quite fragile so i told him that we will walk the shorter route but he insist walking the longer route and he said to me, "you eat the chocolate right?" The moment I was so emotional that he cares for me.

And I went to shower this lady, OC, i think she is abt 90yo. She is so adorable, when i showered for her and the water was cold, she made funny faces, just like a small kid.

Mr HR, 93yo, his beloved wife was admitted to hospital. And when i was cleaning his house, he told me he misses his wife and sounded like he is going to cry, my heart sinks. I promise him i will continue to pray for Mrs R. But Mrs R is also 93yo, sometimes i think is hard to console them because we will eventually grow old and promote to glory.

Through their strong marriage for 70 years, I told myself i will work towards to that goal and to learn to love and appreciate my Mr Oink. Even at their age, they are still madly in love. So sweet.

But I think the saddest part is when one day we will eventually die leaving our loved ones behind...

We are proud owners of a new house

Today, we received our key to our new house. Very happy that we finally managed to settle it before everyone breaks for Xmas. So now we need to decide on the colour for painting and looking around for good bargains for furniture and white goods.

We then received a phone call from our pastor and he invited us to dinner because he got hole in one when golfing in the morning. We went to Joondalup country club for dinner. I think because is a monday evening, through out the whole night we are the only table there. The food wasnt too bad.

I m think is impossible to lose weight with all the Xmas dinners going on. We are going to have another party on Xmas eve.

Mr Oink's Company Dinner

Today, we went for Mr Oink's company dinner at Coco's, south perth foreshore. It is a prime location because we can see the city skyline.

Usually I will not attend Mr Oink's company function because I m shy. I realise that I m losing out on opportunities of eating out at high class restaurant, so this time i decided to go.

The dishes are quite expensive. Entree is about $20 to $25, Main is about $45 each and the dessert is $17.50. So the total cost for each person is about $120 including breads and drinks.

These are our entrees. Few pieces of sashimi and 2 pieces of sushi for $25. Few prawns with some salad.
Aged prime steak and pink snapper at about $45 each
Mr Oink had crepes with ice cream and I had one mango with a scoop of orange sorbert at $17.50 each.

Well, I guess I kind of enjoy the meal because is free. haha... When we walked to our car, I think we saw a couple making out on the grass patch. They not shy but we are shy to see.

My proud Bathroom

This is my proud black and white toilet. Initially, we are worried that it will turn out quite bad. I dont think so now. It looks pretty good right? haha

Chocolate craze

Darling and I went to Fremantle for dinner. We had pasta and we think the pasta taste alright. After dinner, we walk past a spanish chocolate shop. Darling said that the dinner wasnt impressive so decided to treat himself to nice chocolate.

We are not sure what to order, so we decided on the platter that has everything. We both had a chocolate smoothie each. Well, after that we think we are actually chocolate overload. :)

Nice Gesture

Today, we went out shopping for some christmas gift. As walking, i asked Mr Oink what does he want for Christmas... Then he started singing, "all I want for christmas is you...". Aww.. how can i not love him to the max...

I guess i probably have to tie a ribbon on my head on Christmas day.. Wahaha..

My first pay job for photoshoot and recent updates

I m extrememly happy that I finally get my first paycheck for the service of photo shoot. Last weekend, I help an aunty in church to take wedding shots of her daughter wedding. I do it out of love without thinking to get a single cents (just like the previous two), but on sunday, aunty gives me a fat ang pow. I m very very happy.. If you can guess the amount I received, maybe i will share with you. haha.

Another happy news, one of my friend in Singapore who had difficulties in getting pregnant, is finally pregnant. So happy for her! Indeed, it is God's timing.

Another piece of good news is... I have been offered 2 jobs. Both are in hospitality sector. One is to go back to my previous workplace, another is at a small cafe... I dont know which one to choose or rather stay in my current job.

in the making- House Part 10

This is our switches... at first we regretted having it in metallic silver, but i think it looks pretty cool now.

Our Lovely kitchen and "black and white" bathroom.

Ensuite... relaxing colours...

Seriously hope we can get the house as soon as possible, yet we hope the builders dont rush through the job.

Most likely it will be ready in dec, i think mid dec. But, people dont work here for 2 weeks between Christmas. We need to get our flooring, garage door and window mesh ready before we can move in. Most tradesman promise to get our things ready in early Jan, where both of us wont be around.

If we cant move before we left for Singapore, we have to waste $1460 on rental... which $1460 can buy a lot of things.

Praying hard. :)

I need to shout it out loud!

I need to boast to the whole world, I have married the most wonderful man in the world and I love him much... very much...

His every actions done and every words spoken, demonstrated his love towards me.

I love you Mr Oink! xoxo

In the making- House Part 9

Our lovely house is now at Lock up stage, which means we are not able to enter the house, for obvious reason, because is at lock up stage. haha. Cheeky me.

So hubby and I were like peeping tom, peeping into our own property.

This is one of the bedrooms. The door and the wardrobe is up.

This is our kitchen cum living cum dinning area. As you can see, the shelving for the pantry is complete. They had put in some of the fixtures too. Isnt that exciting?

Hawker Cuisine

I have a group of friends who simply love to eat. So yesterday, they whipped up some nice hawker food. Satays, the rice(i dont know how to spell, is it "ketupat"?), roti john and stuffed taupok.

So I thought I should share the mouth watering photos... heehee.

Korean dinner

Today, hubby and I went for a walk along cottosloe beach. We walked for 1 hour on path and on the sand. Almost wanted to give up while walking on the sand, is really resistance and endurance training. I m so proud of hubby because he is quite determine on losing weight. Where else i m the lazy one. But i told hubby that if he lose weight, i will be motivated.

While walking, hubby says he has craving for korean BBQ, and we decided to DIY. After exercise, we drove to the supermarket, we bought beef, spring onions and capsicum. In less than 30mins, we finished preparing. We used the portable stove(the house provided ceramic stove) and normal cooking pan, it actually does a good job, dont need to buy those special one.

We had a really satisfied meal. :)

Darling, xoxoxo

Mr Oink's cooking and In the making- House Part 9

Hello. Today I like to share with you some photos. Firstly, the top two photos are dishes cooked by my beloved hubby. He is improving on his cooking. Recently, i had to work till quite late, so Mr Oink volunteered to cook for me with love... So sweet..

Can you tell the similarity of the photos? haha, is all the same colour! :p But I loved it. Muack!

Yesterday, we went walking along the beach. Beautiful sunset and quite a pleasant weather. We walked on path and sand. I think walking on sand is a good training and less harmful to the knees because the ground is soft.

The photos below are the recent pictures of our lovely house. The ceilings and the cornering is up. Windows and doors are installed too. Cant wait...

oops!

Today, as usual I went to work. I went to this old lady and i suppose to shower her, give her medication and make her a cuppa. She let go of some gases when we are in the shower. So she ask me to open the door, she says she lost her smell of smell and taste, but wanted me to get some fresh air. After that, i did the same thing i did the last time for the coffee, i put coffee, sugar, hot water and milk. Today, she says that the coffee taste weird.

In my mind, i was thinking, i thought you lost your sense of taste. Anyway, I said i did the same thing as last time, nothing unusual. But she said it it really weird and i decided to make any cup. This time round, i got suspicious of the jar of sugar, i decided to taste it. Oh no, it was salt! My, my, i feel so terrible for being so blur. Finally, she got her real cup of coffee(which mean the last time was with salt too).

Another client asked me to scrub her bathroom, you know when the grouts get really dirty. I tried my best but couldnt get the stain off. I tell her I will try on Wednesday again.

My favourite client, Mr OA, is admitted to hospital. :( I really hope he will get well soon.

Feelings...

We have been trying... Yet, there is no good result.
We have been spending heaps n heaps of money on it.. Yet, what did we get?
I m losing hope, i m discourage... Why is it that we have to go through this?
He says, "Dont give up! This is a test.". I said, "maybe is enough."
This might be the last time I wanna try... I will not spend more on it.
We spend a few thousand already, we are very tight with all the oncoming things.
Maybe is now or never...

about my job so far..

Yoyo. I think I got a pretty interesting job as well as depressing job. I decided to give aged care a go. So far I m enjoying it. I got a number of clients, age range from 70 to 95. Most of them live by themselves and they are very lonely people.

My job scope includes, domestic, personal care, shopping and etc. I enjoyed doing grocery shopping for one of the lady. So far I got no luck to get jobs that bring the old to go out and play or have tea.

My favourite client is Mr OA, he lives with his wife in a huge house and at a expensive estate. He has dementia but most of the time he can remember my name. I see him like 4 times a week, I need to shower and shave him and also help the wife to clean the huge house. I provide respite as well so that Mrs OA can take a break from looking after Mr OA. Mrs OA ask me to encourage Mr OA to go for a walk. I told Mr OA that I need to lose weight and he happily went for short walk with me, sometimes up to two times. Every time as we walked, he will give me ideas to lose weight, like jogging, cycling and brisk walking. And he told his wife that I love to walk. Haha.

Few days ago, I went to attend to him, but he was pretty weak, he couldnt stand properly and was pretty wobbly. My heart just sadden, I m so sad to see their health weaken as days go by. Yesterday, the wife told me that he got some infection and now on medication. I prayed that he will get well soon.

Another client of mine(actually I m helping a colleague for 3 weeks), Mr JS, I have to shower him alone. When i first got to his place, the house stink with urine smell. I almost faint. He is quite a nice guy. The second visit to his house, he started to say something weird and not pleasant to my ears. and the third visit, i told myself that it is going to be my last visit. He didnt do anything to me, is only that the things he said was very strange. Anyway, my co-ordinator understands the situation and tells me not to go back.

Mr MJ, he is 93 years old. Every time i visit him, he will tells me that he misses his wife(who has pass away). I can understand how they feel. Imagine living alone in a big house, nobody to talk to and nothing much to do. They usually wake up around 5 am and sleep at 9pm, it is such a long day for them. I enjoy going to Mr MJ because i need to cook for him. I think the life of the aged is really simple, he basically has steak, potatoe and peas for dinner everyday.

Well, still got lots more to tell, but i m getting lazy.. ;p That's all for now.

Nicole's baby shower

Nicole is going to give birth to a baby boy, Reuben, in 5 weeks time. I went to the baby shower last Saturday. We have delicious food and a few games. I m not a very sporting person, so i tried escaping the games by being the camera woman. haha.

Anyway, I only know a few people at the shower. I think i m quite shy when i see new people. (haha, actually i think I m more antisocial.)

The first game is to guess the waistline of the pregnant woman. And guess what, her waistline is similar to mine and I m not pregnant.
Second game is to guess the flavors of the baby food.. i didnt try, but those who play the game say they will never feed their baby with the processed can baby food because it simply taste yucky! I think natural food is better!
Lastly, rhymes crossword! I totally failed it. No childhood. My mum tell me those rhymes in mandarin leh...

When will it be my turn... *pout*

BBT and Bread

We went for bubble tea. The bubble tea here is expensive and pearls like very little. Anyway, better than nothing right? We manage to find a bread shop that is quite similar to Singapore one.
Pork floss bun and delicious looking cakes... Yummy! How to lose weight? Watever!
I think is a trend now to take photo with a pout.

My brothers birthday are coming.. I miss them... sobs..

In the making- House Part 8

Blogging isnt easy for me. I couldnt think of what to write and I feel that everyday is like the same to me. But, trying not to disappoint my best friend, I think I better scribble something. haha.

Jason and I went to look at our baby. We are so excited that we need to visit every week. It is so excited to watch it grow(like real, more like build). Anyway, that's right, our cosy little cottage on the way to completion. Hopefully will be ready by December.

So, new photos of our house. They cemented the walls and the ceiling boards are up. Good job isnt it?

Mr Oink turns 30...

Mr Oink is 30 this year. Heehee. I like to tease him that he has no more digit '2' in the tens place. Two more years for me. It's actually scary to see how fast time flies.

Few weeks ago, I planned for a surprise party for my darling who is turning 30. There are too many people to invite, so we cut down to 20 people.

So on the actual day, I finished work at 6pm, I bought a muffin as a birthday cake. Telling Mr Oink that it's gonna be two of us and we shall go out for a simple dinner. We took a short nap and get ready at 7pm because I need to ensure the guests had arrived.

We drove to the restaurant and I ask Mr Oink is feeling of turning thirty, he gave a simple reply and feeling so so.

We went into the restaurant and the whole group(sitting right at the end of the restaurant) stands up to sing him a birthday song, he was surprised! Yes! We did it!

We played "passing the message", but some distorted the message of how nice he is to how to have more hair growth.. haha.

Mr Oink receives alot of gifts and he is really happy. I m so glad to see my darling enjoying himself.

I Love you!

The muffin birthday cake and the whole group

The real birthday tart, his balloons and whole bags of gift cards.

In the making- House Part 6

The skeleton for the roof is up! The alfresco is up too. Hope that the weather will be good, so that the builders can complete our house earlier. :)
