Mr Oink turns 30...

Mr Oink is 30 this year. Heehee. I like to tease him that he has no more digit '2' in the tens place. Two more years for me. It's actually scary to see how fast time flies.

Few weeks ago, I planned for a surprise party for my darling who is turning 30. There are too many people to invite, so we cut down to 20 people.

So on the actual day, I finished work at 6pm, I bought a muffin as a birthday cake. Telling Mr Oink that it's gonna be two of us and we shall go out for a simple dinner. We took a short nap and get ready at 7pm because I need to ensure the guests had arrived.

We drove to the restaurant and I ask Mr Oink is feeling of turning thirty, he gave a simple reply and feeling so so.

We went into the restaurant and the whole group(sitting right at the end of the restaurant) stands up to sing him a birthday song, he was surprised! Yes! We did it!

We played "passing the message", but some distorted the message of how nice he is to how to have more hair growth.. haha.

Mr Oink receives alot of gifts and he is really happy. I m so glad to see my darling enjoying himself.

I Love you!

4th Wedding Anniversary

How long have I know Mr Oink? Hmm... total of 12 years. It had been a great blessing to have know him, date him and marry him. I Love You!

He took half day off to spend quality time with me. I bought him a shirt and a few pairs of good quality socks. And can tell that he simply love it.

Every year I was able to guess the present he bought for me, but this year, I dont know why I couldnt guess it. I love my pressie.

We went Karaoke and singing almost all the love songs we know. It was romantic and sweet. And we end with a nice Japanese dinner.

Mid Autumn Festival in a cold and far country. ;p

Today is the mid autumn festival, we had two BBQ(afternoon and evening). This reminds me of the taiwanese culture and reminds me of last year where my taiwanese friends(Liping, Sandy, Emma, Phoebe and Raymond) came over to our place to celebrate this festival with bbq too. I miss you!

It was raining when we had our first bbq, you can see from the photo. Three men and two umbrellas... Good job guys!

Beside the bbq stuffs, we also had a lot more of other stuff. We had garlic and cheese cake, sushi, salad, chocolate cake and fruit platter. With all these, I still miss the Singapore way of bbq. :)

We finished the first bbq at 5.30pm and the next one starts at 6.00pm. Can you imagine how full and tired we are?
For this bbq, i brought dessert with me, home made almond jelly! :) We had kebabs, chicken wings, salad(eg: garden, potatoes and fruits), mooncake and cheese cake.
After dinner, we hung lanterns on the "tree" and play with sparkles. Got to leave early because Mr Oink fell asleep, bet he is too tired after months of stress from the musical production.

In the making- House Part 5

This is the main hall. Consists of 3 parts: kitchen, dining and living area. In this photo(left), you will see the counter, the pantry and the fridge space.

To the left of the kitchen counter will be our dining area, there is also a sliding door that leads to the alfresco and the garden. To the front of the kitchen counter will be our living room.

My New Job!

I have been bummering around for almost 3 months, it was really good because I get to rest, relax and recharge!

If you have been reading my blog, you will know that I went for an interview right? Yes, I got the job! This job title is Community Support Worker, in other words, a carer. There isn't enough nursing home for the aged, so the aged is encourage to stay at home and be taken care by the carer. There is a variety of things to be done for them, for example: Personal Care(shower, shave), Domestic Assistance(Do house-works), Respite(Give the family a rest), Medical help, bring them to appointments, shopping and etc.

I went through two buddy shifts, I really learnt a lot and it was fun.

Yesterday, It was my first time going to client on my own. My first task is to shower a aged man and shave him too. Looking forward to it, as well as excited. When I arrived at the house, the wife told me that there is no electricity, I need to shower him in the dark. This is indeed challenging, but in a way is good, so the client will not see the awkward look on my face. Next challenge is to shave him, I have never shave for anyone before, my hands were shivering when I do it. I was glad that the family is kind to me, maybe because is my first time. Phew...

Today, my task was to do domestic cleaning for a client. He is 93 years old and his wife stays in a mursing home because she broken her hips. But, everyday without fail, he will visits his wife. They have been married for 67 years, I really envy them, it is really heart warming to see people fulfilling their marriage vows, in sickness and in health, ..., till death to us part.

When I visited my buddy's clients, some of them are widows, some of them live alone in perth and some of them neglected by family. Can you imagine that they probably only see us for the rest of their life? I am for sure an emotional creature, but my buddy said I have to be strong, sometimes I might visit a client and found them dead. I hope it will not happen for me.

This job, so far, has given me rewarding feeling, by putting smile on lonely old people and helping those who are helpless. I pray that I can pass my 3 months probation too. :)
