Nong time no see

Hello. Really been a while since I last blogged. Wonder if there is anyone out there still checking my blog.

So much to update but dont know where to start. Just celebrated my 29th birthday, hopefully is a new beginning.

Was watching Singapore Idols 2009, and that guy who used to sing "nong nong ago..." joined this season too. I wonder what is he trying to achieve. What did he go on national television to make a fool out of himself. Aiya..

In July, I had an awesome time in Jakarta. I want to go back again, if I can. Shall load some photos or can check out my facebook.

In Aug, I went back to school. Yes, Curtin University of Technology. Guess what course I am doing? Some hints, I used to study engineering in Polytechnic.

During this period from Jul to Sept, I have been through a lot of emotions up and down, but, Thank God for a supporting husband.

Keep me in your prayer ok, Exam coming. Will update soon testimony.

Increase in Faith, that's all i need.

Made up my mind to go to Jakarta. Troubled by the issue of financial, but not sure why there is this stirring in my heart to go. I am going to pray and trust God for it.

Now this is my favourite song,

I walk by faith
Each step by faith
To live by faith
I put my trust in You
I wallk by faith
Each step by faith
To live by faith
I put my trust in You

Every step I take
Is a step of faith
No weapon formed against me shall prosper
And every prayer I make
Is a prayer of faith
And if my God is for me
Who can be against me

Rainy Stormy Season but my heart feels warmth

For the past few days, the weather has been really bad. Wind speed as fast as 150km/hour. A lot of destructions heard over the news. Yet, the farmers are really happy because they need the rain as it is their seeding period.

Despite the foul weather, I still need to work. Yes, even with such strong wind. When I was driving on the road, it feels like my car will be blown away anytime. Today, I tried to come up with all excuses not to go to work. Haha. But my conscience says no!

The day did not started  too well. My hubby made me a sandwich with expired smoked salmon. We had to throw it away and there isn't enough time to make a new one.

Usually on friday, the north bound traffic will be smooth, but not for today. Maybe is the strong wind and the heavy rain. We are stuck in the traffic for almost an hour plus, and worst, the petrol is running low. A hungry woman is an angry woman. Haha. I started to feel a bit frustrated.

I was late for my first job, 30 minutes late. I was told to add one more job to my schedule today. I dislike last minute changes but if i don't accept the job, there might be one poor elderly out there feeling helpless.

I went on to the new job. It is to clean the caravan. Yes, an elderly staying in a caravan. His caravan was so rundown and dirty. I have to clean it. When I finish my cleaning, he asked me if I wanna any plants, chili or herbs? Being a typical asian, of course I will choose chili. So he went out into the rain and strong wind to get me 2 pots of chili plant. Walking stick in one hand and hugging 2 pots in another hand. I was touched and worried for him, I ran towards him to help him to his caravan. But he quickly passed me the 2 pots in the rain and ask me to hurried to my car. I was touched by his action. Thank you, Mister!

I think I simply love the elderly. Is true! :)

My Photography Website is under construction

Time to put my words into action. Always wanted a website to upload my favourite photos and to build my port folio. Hopefully, I can start earning some dough out of photography, to be able to expand my collection of equipment.

He left...

Today, Mr OD decided to leave this planet. I cant help but to cry. He is like a friend to me. I remember his smile and all the encouragements that he has given me. I have known him for 9 months, He is such a lovely man. See you in heaven.

Yesterday, I spent about 7 hours with him. His condition worsen yesterday, basically only breathing and has no more movement. A lot of people came to visit him. Everybody last words to him is to ask him to go. I cried when I hear what they say. Maybe, they are right, is better for him to go and rest in peace then to suffer and also making the people around him suffer. Maybe my culture is different from them.

The only time when we ask people to go and die is when we are angry or hate that person..

Emotions...

On the 18th of April, I m extremely happy because I m back in Singapore for 2 days. Time is really really short. Reached Singapore at 3am, went to eat have supper and went home to sleep. Woke up at 10plus, had breakfast and off to Toa Payoh.

Went to see doctor at Raffles Medical because I was down with sore throat and flu. :( After that head to my favorite salon to have a new look. I was pretty sad that all the hair stylists that I knew had left. So I ask my favourite technician to recommend me one, she called her boss and they recommend me to Andy. I told Andy I want a fresh look, hopefully he will snip off my long ponytail that I have for 9 years. i told him i losing a lot of hair too. In the end, I manage to convinced him to do it(All my ex stylists said I got round face, cannot have short hair), but Andy did a good job and I love my new haircut.

Went to City Harvest for church service because we need to attend wedding tomorrow. The service was awesome and we are glad that that we are there. Had dinner with my family, I miss them badly.

Sunday, the reason we are back in singapore is to attend Mr Oink's cousin wedding. It all went well, but tiring. There were few hours break before the wedding dinner, so we decided to pamper ourselves. We went to Kenko at Singapore flyer, we had foot reflexology, back massage and the highlight is the fish spa. It was so ticklish for Mr Oink that he was giggling away, it was really good for stress relieve isnt it? The fish really did a good job, after 30mins of nibbling the dead skin off my legs, my legs feel like baby again. White and smooth. I wish i can buy the fishes home.

Monday, Feeling blue because this trip to Singapore was really short. I dont like it but no choice. The flight was delayed for an hour, add to my sian-ness. When i got home last night, I was exhausted. Met a strange man on the plane too, angry! Disturb our rest.

Today, I went back to work. I was shocked when i arrived at my favourite client's place. Mr OD, he was bedridden, his wife said he went into coma. I could believe it as he is well on friday. I tried to control my tears, but I couldnt and started crying. Mrs OD then comfort me and tell me Mr OD is not dead yet. Immediately, I felt bad for crying because I should be strong and take care of Mrs OD. It was an experience that I hate, but we have no choice and control over it.

I helped to shave and clean Mr OD, and the thought of wanting to be a nurse become stronger.

Should I or shouldnt I?

Two months and a bit more.

Wow... Time flies(I think this is my fav starting sentence). Havent been blogging for a while. Miss me?

Let me think, what happen during these 2 months?? I try to remember ok because i think somehow i suffer from memory lost.

We moved in to our nest about 1 month ago. It is still in a mess, lack of storage area. My friends doesnt believe what i say and told me that i moved from a smaller place to a bigger place, how can it be. Well, indeed is a bigger place but the old place got more cupboards to hide things away, but not this. Staying in perth means everything is cheaper if u do it yourself(DIY), so my dear husband tried his very best to DIY a lot of things, he is now super handy man. Although there is place for improvement. haha.

We tried our best to get our house ready for the arrival of my in laws(parent, sister and brother). They arrived on the 20th of March to spend 9 days here. This trip was planned as a birthday and wedding anniversary present for my in laws. We had a wonderful time together and a lot of good food. The highlight is our 3 days and 2 nights trip to Margaret River.

We went to Busselton, but lazy to walk the 3.6 km jetty. We had a delicious meal at The Goose. We stayed in the forest. Yes, in the forest. A fully equip house. My sister and brother in law(sbil) and us stayed in a 2 bed room house and my parent in law(pil) stayed in a 1 bedroom house. Woohoo. We wanted them to have their privacy. The setting of the house is so romantic and relaxing. The best place is the bathroom with a big jacuzzi with see thru ceiling. We helped each couple to set up the bathroom at night with relaxing music, warm jacuzzi, champagne and candles. And with a beautiful and mysterious starry starry night just above. Isnt it great? Oh.. I love it!

We had a sumptuous bbq the aussie way. Wild kangaroos along the way, cycling in the forest, beautiful jewel cave, lighthouse, chocolate factory and vineyard.

They went back on Sunday and I really missed them. Wont be long till i see them again... In 3 weeks time. Yeah...

So fast I m backed.

Same opening sentence, Time flies. It was like few days back that I m looking forward to go to Singapore, and now I m back home. This trip back to Singapore was really good. A lot of food like usual, I think there isnt any day that I actually feel hungry, because there are abundant of food.

I tried like more than 8 different kind of pineapple tarts. Yummy! Going back to Singapore during CNY can be quite expensive. Air ticket, buy new clothes(apparently i didnt buy much becuase dont have my size), give ang pows and buy new year goodies. But I really love the spend I spent with my love ones.

There are so many stories to tell, but I m simply lazy to blog. haha.

Just wanna share my thots about Singapore.

Looking forward, yet was quite a disappointment.
Am I in Singapore or another foreign land.
Are people speaking better mandarin or they are simply imported.
Everywhere is surrounded by people that are from everywhere.
So packed, so noisy.
This is not the Singapore I know, is invaded by others.
Honk Honk Honk, is making me frustrated.
Where have all your patience gone to?
Why are you always rushing?

Haha... :)

Buzzing around

Can You believe it, we arrived in Singapore at about 3am and reached home about 4, and i think we manage to sleep at 4plus. On the same day, we had 3 weddings to attend, at 11am, 2pm and 6pm. I m really really at my low batt form.

The first wedding is so traditional and so touching. The second one is very contemporary and the last on is relaxing.

On Sunday, we went to church, it really a happy occasion, going to church with my PIL and SIL, worshiping together. Then we went to visit ah ma, dad's childhood friend and we proceed to dinner. We had roti prata near botanic garden and we went to Damsey road for Ben and Jerry. The design and ambience is really nice, great place to hang out.

Yesterday, I made up my mind to do lasik. It was quite an experience and now i feel so good having good eveysight without glasses or contact lens. Cool!

Guess where am I?

Hello... finally the day have arrived. We are now at the airport waiting to board the plane to.... SINGAPORE! Hopefully, DH and I can take this time to really relax ourselves because of the new house, we have been really tired, especially DH.

Really thank God for His blessing, that we can find such a good couple to live with for the past 1 week. Although we didnt manage to settle our rental situation, we decided to let it go and spend the $1k to be stress free. It is really a lesson learnt.

So remember, always have black and white, thru conversation only is equivalent to nothing.

Finally Move

Finally, we moved out from rental property and move to our neighbor's house as known as our church friends too. The past few days has been really busy. But I think my DH work twice as hard as me. I cant imagine life without my DH.

The flooring is half way done, so is really good. Today, we had an issue with the rental property agent because they say we didnt write in a notice. so sad. we probably have to pay penalty of about $1000, and the reason we are moving out earlier is to save the money. so feeling so sian now.

Do pray for us that we can save the money and the agent will understand.

Blame it on the hot weather.

OMG, it is so hot now. It is about 39 degree. As you know we got our keys and had started painting. And the useless me actually fell sick. I did still help out with some painitng until my DH asks me not to do it.

I called up my coordinator to tell them I cannot sick because I m afraid that i will spread the virus to the aged. But I think they really do not have enough staffs that they ask me to wear a mask instead. What the?! Anyway, I still report to work and try my best to stay away from the aged.

DH wakes up early every morning to go and paint the house. Thank God for friends, many actually help us out. We are now 95% to completion on painting.

Today, as usual I went to work, and bought another bottle of cough syrup. I hope i will get well soon because we are moving on the 3rd Jan. As for packing, i think we only done 20%. Oops.

Feeling a bit drowsy, i think i better go rest so that i will be able to welcome 2009 with a healthy body.

As for new year resolutions, let me think about it.

Thank you for all my family and friends that have such great blessing in our life. Especially the best man in the world, my Mr Oink!! xoxoxoxoxoxo Cant express how important you are. :)

Exhausted!

I m so so exhausted. I think I m falling sick soon. We got our house key and we have already started doing some work. Yesterday, we went to sand down the walls. It was really good workout because my arms and legs are so sore today.

Manage to paint half the house with the based coat and more to go. The paints are not cheap at all. One 10 litres tin is about $140. I can see my money flying away. But is definitely cheaper to paint on our own because my neighbor told me that she spent seven thousand on getting a painter.

The things here are extremely steep. We are looking to buy fridge, washer and dryer. Hoping the post christmas sale will be cheap.

Highlights of my job

Feel like writing down some of the things that touches me this past weeks.

Last Friday, I went to my favorite client, OD, then his wife complains to me about him peeing everywhere in the house, keep falling down and even run away from home. I pity the wife but sometimes i wonder did the wife ill treat him that why he runs away.

Anyway, I spend time with him, everything was fine. I offered him a piece of chocolate biscuit and he doesnt want. Then i popped it into my mouth. When he saw that, he told me to bring him for a walk. To Mr OD, he will walk with me because he knows i want to lose weight, but this is actually my excuse to make him walks with me. So I was very happy because i wanted him to do a bit of exercise, so we went for a walk. He is still quite fragile so i told him that we will walk the shorter route but he insist walking the longer route and he said to me, "you eat the chocolate right?" The moment I was so emotional that he cares for me.

And I went to shower this lady, OC, i think she is abt 90yo. She is so adorable, when i showered for her and the water was cold, she made funny faces, just like a small kid.

Mr HR, 93yo, his beloved wife was admitted to hospital. And when i was cleaning his house, he told me he misses his wife and sounded like he is going to cry, my heart sinks. I promise him i will continue to pray for Mrs R. But Mrs R is also 93yo, sometimes i think is hard to console them because we will eventually grow old and promote to glory.

Through their strong marriage for 70 years, I told myself i will work towards to that goal and to learn to love and appreciate my Mr Oink. Even at their age, they are still madly in love. So sweet.

But I think the saddest part is when one day we will eventually die leaving our loved ones behind...

We are proud owners of a new house

Today, we received our key to our new house. Very happy that we finally managed to settle it before everyone breaks for Xmas. So now we need to decide on the colour for painting and looking around for good bargains for furniture and white goods.

We then received a phone call from our pastor and he invited us to dinner because he got hole in one when golfing in the morning. We went to Joondalup country club for dinner. I think because is a monday evening, through out the whole night we are the only table there. The food wasnt too bad.

I m think is impossible to lose weight with all the Xmas dinners going on. We are going to have another party on Xmas eve.

Mr Oink's Company Dinner

Today, we went for Mr Oink's company dinner at Coco's, south perth foreshore. It is a prime location because we can see the city skyline.

Usually I will not attend Mr Oink's company function because I m shy. I realise that I m losing out on opportunities of eating out at high class restaurant, so this time i decided to go.

The dishes are quite expensive. Entree is about $20 to $25, Main is about $45 each and the dessert is $17.50. So the total cost for each person is about $120 including breads and drinks.

These are our entrees. Few pieces of sashimi and 2 pieces of sushi for $25. Few prawns with some salad.
Aged prime steak and pink snapper at about $45 each
Mr Oink had crepes with ice cream and I had one mango with a scoop of orange sorbert at $17.50 each.

Well, I guess I kind of enjoy the meal because is free. haha... When we walked to our car, I think we saw a couple making out on the grass patch. They not shy but we are shy to see.

My proud Bathroom

This is my proud black and white toilet. Initially, we are worried that it will turn out quite bad. I dont think so now. It looks pretty good right? haha

Chocolate craze

Darling and I went to Fremantle for dinner. We had pasta and we think the pasta taste alright. After dinner, we walk past a spanish chocolate shop. Darling said that the dinner wasnt impressive so decided to treat himself to nice chocolate.

We are not sure what to order, so we decided on the platter that has everything. We both had a chocolate smoothie each. Well, after that we think we are actually chocolate overload. :)
